Diabetes symposium to discuss managing glucose in pregnancy

The 2024 Diabetes Update symposium will be held Oct. 11, providing an update on diabetes management emphasizing glucose management and the pregnant patient. Other topics will include medication updates, obesity management, clinical nutrition, and care of the geriatric diabetes population.

It will be held at the Truhlsen Campus Events Center on the UNMC Omaha campus from 7:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. A livestream will be available via Zoom. 

This accredited continuing education activity is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians and others who care for diabetes patients. Continuing education credits are available.

This symposium is sponsored by: the UNMC Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism; Nebraska Medicine Diabetes Center; and UNMC employee learning and development; through the resources of the UNMC Center for Continuing Education. 

The symposium director is Sydney Blount, MD, assistant professor in the UNMC Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, Department of Internal Medicine.
