Regent Rob Schafer of Beatrice, chairman of the University of Nebraska Board of Regents, will preside over the ceremony, during which Dr. Gold will present his vision and reflect on the university’s opportunities in the years ahead.
Gen. (Ret.) John Hyten will deliver keynote remarks during the ceremony. Gen. Hyten served as the 11th vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff after a 40-year career in the U.S. Air Force. Other dignitaries set to offer remarks include Gov. Jim Pillen and U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer.
As is customary for investiture ceremonies for new university presidents, representatives from the University of Nebraska’s students, faculty, staff, administration and alumni, as well as the philanthropic community, the higher education community and the community at large, also will provide greetings.
