Legislative candidate Julia Palzer, who is running for office to represent Legislative District 9 that includes the med center, visited UNMC for a tour on Aug. 7.
Palzer toured the Davis Global Center, the Wigton Heritage Center and McGoogan Health Sciences Library. At the Davis Global Center, she talked with Chris Kratochvil, MD, UNMC vice chancellor for external relations, and Pamela Boyers, PhD, associate vice chancellor of clinical simulation, iEXCEL.
Palzer received a tour of the iEXCEL program from Moriah McCune, iEXCEL’s community engagement coordinator, and saw the holographic theater, patient simulation rooms and the surgical simulation area.
Palzer said she was impressed by the first-class, state-of-the-art facility.
“I just want to proclaim from the rooftops what we’re doing here,” she said.
“I’m just proud to know that this is here in Nebraska, and I can walk home from here. It’s really impressive.”
