Register for non-credit, professional development options

University of Nebraska Varner Hall

The University of Nebraska System has partnered with Google to make nine career certificates accessible to Nebraskans statewide. NU is delivering Google’s industry-validated content, with live support and in coordination with local partners, via NU Advance, the NU System’s home for industry-aligned non-credit offerings.

The Google programs – developed and taught by Google experts and vetted by leading employers – are open to NU students, alumni of any University of Nebraska campus and Nebraska residents for a special first-year rate of $20 per enrollment.

The program consists of three, four-month long cycles (starting in August, December and April 2025) with cohorts of up to 2,500 learners statewide. The first courses begin Aug. 1.

Under the partnership, students and Nebraskans can enroll in the following Google Career Certificates. The programs prepare learners for entry-level roles, with no experience required, in three to six months of part-time study:

  • Cybersecurity
  • IT Support
  • Data Analytics
  • Digital Marketing and E-Commerce
  • Project Management
  • User Experience (UX) Design

The following advanced certificates also are available, designed for learners with several years of experience or who have completed foundational Google Career Certificates in a related field:

  • IT Automation with Python
  • Advanced Data Analytics
  • Business Intelligence

Signups for courses are first-come, first-served. Learners can take one course and if there are additional licenses remaining during a cycle, they will be made available.

In partnering with Google to offer career certificates, the University of Nebraska joins a list of leading institutions, including Syracuse University, UCLA, Rutgers and the University of Texas System.
