Expanded opportunities for portraits and other changes are ahead for those wanting professional photographs.
To continue offering a range of services to the UNMC community for little to no cost, UNMC Strategic Communications will charge $40 per person for faculty and staff headshots. A cost center and responsible unit name will be required to make a reservation during standing headshot appointments.
These changes will take effect Aug. 1.
Headshot photos from these appointments are professionally edited, and subjects are given several images from which to choose. The edited image is provided in both horizontal and vertical formats, which are loaded to WebDam, the UNMC photo database. Headshot photos may be used for professional purposes beyond UNMC, such as LinkedIn and speaking engagements.
Only official UNMC headshot photos may be used on the UNMC website for faculty and staff.
The department also recently added a second professional portrait opportunity per week to reduce the wait time for appointments. Appointments now are available:
- 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays.
- Noon to 1 p.m. Thursdays.
In addition, headshot photo sessions for residents may be scheduled by department or program. These photographs will remain largely unedited and will be offered at a lower rate.
Faculty and staff reservations still must be made through this form. On the form, select either Tuesday or Thursday from the drop-down menu to activate the calendar. Once you submit a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email with directions to the Strategic Communications portrait studio in Room 3227 of University Tower, plus an ICS file attachment. Clicking the attachment will add the appointment to your Outlook calendar.
The confirmation email also includes a cancellation link. If you will not be able to make your scheduled appointment, please return to the confirmation email at least one week before the appointment and click on the cancel button to free up the time and to avoid a charge for the appointment.
If you have questions about these changes, email Stacie Hamel, director of projects and digital strategy.
