THRIVE Walking Challenge starts June 10

The UNMC Center for Healthy Living invites the campus to join the THRIVE 30-day Walking Challenge that begins Monday, June 10.

THRIVE stands for Transforming Health and daily Routines by Inspiring Vitality in Everyone.

The program’s goal is to inspire and empower participants to incorporate more activity into their daily routines, especially during the work or school day when people tend to sit for long periods of time.

The program is free and open to members of the UNMC and Nebraska Medicine community, which includes students and employees as well as members of the UNMC Center for Healthy Living. Participants do not need to be members to join the challenge.

Registration for the THRIVE walking challenge can be found on the Center for Healthy Living website.

After signing up, participants will receive a walking plan, a stretching guide and invites to weekly Zoom drop-in sessions for quick stretch sessions that can be done at a desk. At the end of the challenge, participants can submit their walking logs to the CFHL to receive a prize.

The walking challenge is the first in a series of THRIVE wellness events planned for the upcoming academic year.
