UNMC is currently accepting pre-proposals to select two nominees to submit full applications for the Catalyst Research Award Program.
In 2014, the Falk Medical Research Trust initiated a program to finance transformative research aimed at enhancing its funding impact. The program aids the transition of basic science insights into clinical practice. It offers two linked awards to fund breakthrough research that tackles scientific progress obstacles:
- The Catalyst Research Award offers initial funding up to $350,000 for one to two years, aiding investigators in preparing for the Transformational Award. Chosen institutions can submit a maximum of two applications per grant cycle.
- The Transformational Research Award offers extra funding up to $1,000,000 for two to three years to successful Catalyst Award projects, aiding their progression towards commercial development. Only previous Catalyst awardees who have met their proposal’s benchmarks can apply, and only once for a Transformational Award.
