Dr. Gold, the current executive vice president and provost of the University of Nebraska System and chancellor of UNMC, was named the priority candidate for the University of Nebraska presidency on March 20, following a national search. As state law requires, he is undergoing a 30-day public vetting period. If, after the vetting period, the NU Board of Regents deems it appropriate, it will bring Dr. Gold’s appointment for consideration at a Board of Regents meeting.

University community members and the public are encouraged to submit feedback on Dr. Gold’s candidacy anytime during the vetting period by visiting this feedback form online.

The Board of Regents will continue to accept feedback on Dr. Gold’s candidacy through Thursday, April 25, via the president search website.

The University of Nebraska Board of Regents has scheduled a meeting for Friday, April 26, for potential consideration of Dr. Gold’s appointment as the next president of the NU System. The board will meet on Friday at 1 p.m. at Varner Hall, 3835 Holdrege St. in Lincoln.

While the regents meeting allows for the consideration of the president priority candidate’s appointment, no action will be taken until all feedback received has been reviewed.
