The sixth Annual Graduate Medical Education Research Symposium will be held on Monday (April 22) from 4-6:30 p.m. in the Sorrell Center’s Truhlsen Events Center.
“It is always exciting to showcase the research of our residents and fellows,” said Chandra Are, MBBS, the UNMC College of Medicine’s associate dean of Graduate Medical Education.
The symposium will provide the opportunity for house officers to present their research in all avenues, including clinical outcomes, basic science, education, business, health policy and humanities. Dr. Are said close to 120 research abstracts – in both oral and poster formats – will be presented at the event, nearly 50 more than when the symposium first premiered in 2018.
Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, and UNMC College of Medicine Dean Bradley Britigan, MD, will open the event.
All members of the UNMC community are invited to attend and show support to the residents and fellows.
“Our house officers are involved in impactful research projects and studies,” Dr. Are said. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to share their work.”
