On Tuesday, Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen signed a proclamation naming the week of March 4 through 8 as I Love NU Week in Nebraska.

NU leaders who traveled to the Nebraska State Capitol for the signing included Regent Tim Clare, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Student Regent Paul Pechous, University of Nebraska Interim President Chris Kabourek and UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, as well as other supporters.

Photo ID, key offices will no longer work with cash

The photo ID and key issue offices for UNMC and Nebraska Medicine will no longer be working with cash, as of April 1.

The ID office will not accept cash for payment of lost or stolen badges but will only accept debit cards, credit cards or Apple Pay.

The key office will no longer hand out cash refunds. The practice of charging individual key holders had stopped two years ago in favor of charging a department’s cost center, and key holders had one year to obtain their refunds.
