You are the recipient of the Inspirational Mentor of Educators Award. Tell us how mentors inspired you.

My mentors have displayed to me time and again that true mentorship is finding a way to shine the light on your mentees and provide them with new opportunities to grow and succeed. It is my hope that as I grow in my role of mentor to others that I may continue this focus.

Describe your proudest moment as an educator.

Seeing learners incorporate what they have learned from me and using those skills in their own way to support their own passions brings me such joy.

What advice would you give other faculty members who want to have an impact in education?

Be open to new experiences in education that you may not think you are ready for. There is so much to be learned through the teaching of others.

Do you have a favorite quote or philosophy on teaching?

Tell me, and I forget. Teach me, and I may remember. Involve me, and I learn.
