The new Nebraska Medicine UNMC Student Health Clinic will open in its fully renovated and dedicated space today (Feb. 19).
Nebraska Medicine UNMC Student Health Clinic
Opens today (Feb. 19) on the second floor of the Student Life Center, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in March.
Staffing:
- Medical director: David Harnisch, MD, associate professor, UNMC Department of Family Medicine and physician, Nebraska Medicine
- Clinic manager: Katy Stratman, Nebraska Medicine
- Physician assistant-certified: Christy Ott, Nebraska Medicine
- Clinic nurse: Kim Rasmussen, Nebraska Medicine
Nebraska Medicine is taking on clinical operations from the Department of Family Medicine in the UNMC College of Medicine. And the new space – now exclusively devoted to student health – will be in the Student Life Center on the second floor, relocating from the Family Medicine outpatient clinic on Level 3 of the Durham Outpatient Center.
The project stems from students asking for a dedicated space for the clinic. By locating in the Student Life Center, the health clinic will co-locate with other student wellness focused services: the Center for Healthy Living, Counseling and Psychological Services, Accessibility Services Center, Gender and Sexuality Resource Center and the Office of Academic Success.
Clinic hours are:
- Monday: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Tuesday: Noon-4 p.m.
- Wednesday: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Thursday: Noon-4 p.m
- Friday: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
The services that students can expect to receive at the Nebraska Medicine UNMC Student Health Clinic remain unchanged from what have been available.
The Student Health Clinic number also is unchanged: 402-559-7204. UNMC students only can make appointments by calling that number. 24-hour care also is available by calling that number and speaking to a health care professional.
Information on scheduling an appointment for UNMC students only is available at this link for the Nebraska Medicine UNMC Student Health Clinic.
