Erin Schneider, EdD, has been named deputy director of the Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska. The new position is a promotion from her previous role as BHECN’s associate director for external affairs.
While Dr. Schneider will continue to oversee BHECN’s efforts in external affairs such as communications and public policy work, the new post also reflects the work Dr. Schneider does in helping set and oversee overall organizational strategy, said BHECN Director Marley Doyle, MD.
“The new position really is a formal recognition of the important work Erin has already been doing in helping guide the overall direction of our organization,” Dr. Doyle said. “We are in the midst of an exciting period of growth and change at BHECN. Erin’s leadership has been critical in getting us to this point, and it will be invaluable in helping us continue to grow into our new role moving forward.”
Dr. Schneider joined BHECN in June 2020. Prior to that, she worked at UNMC’s CityMatCH organization for several years. Dr. Schneider also has 12 years of experience in social work and behavioral health.
Dr. Schneider has a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Drake University, a master of social work degree from the University of Kansas and a doctor of education degree from Nebraska Methodist College.
