A vacant, former bank building at the southwest corner of 42nd and Farnam streets is being demolished due to the structure being unsafe.
Work is underway and is expected to take about 10 weeks, with the first five weeks for asbestos abatement and the remaining five weeks for demolition of the building and leveling the site.
As of now, there are no major changes in traffic patterns to the streets surrounding the building, however, there may be some single-lane restrictions periodically during the building demolition phase. Additional information and updates about this work will be posted in UNMC Today, as needed.
