Education: 

• Medical school, Wayne State University in Detroit
• Residency in general surgery, University of Miami in Miami, Florida
• Fellowship in endocrine surgery, University of California San Francisco School of Medicine

Professional and medical interests:

• Benign and malignant thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal disorders
• I offer both transabdominal and posterior retroperitoneoscopic approaches for adrenalectomies.

How I fell in love with my specialty: I’ve loved medicine from a very young age, and surgery catered to all of my passions. The fast-paced, technically precise nature of this field, coupled with the opportunity to provide immediate solutions to a patient’s chronic medical condition, is very gratifying. I particularly enjoy endocrine surgery for the opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration, the meticulous dissection and precision entailed in these surgeries, along with the favorable outcomes for most of our patients. Finally, the opportunities for clinical research and to make meaningful contributions to our scientific community are both equally rewarding and exciting.     

Three things people may not know about me:

• I competed in my first triathlon at 6 years old.
• I played collegiate tennis. 
• I’m originally from Michigan.
