Grant applications are being accepted from UNMC faculty and staff to create noncredit and microcredential courses that can be taken by anyone in the world. Noncredit courses are short, focused training that allow individuals to learn and develop in-demand skills they can immediately use.
The Office of Noncredit Learning, under the leadership of UNMC Academic Affairs, provides resources and oversees the process, in collaboration with NU Advance. The initiative is part of the University of Nebraska’s five-year strategy to develop the talents of Nebraska’s workforce through microcredentials and noncredit courses.
The competitive grant funding ranges from $6,000 to $20,000 per project, with a total of $75,000 being available in this round of funding. Awards will be determined upon evaluation of the proposal and based on number of learners, market impact and income generation.
Grant applications are due Jan. 4, 2024. Awardees will be announced in February.
