This Veterans Day — Nov. 11, but observed today as a federal holiday — UNMC salutes those who have served our country in the armed forces. The veterans here at UNMC and their families have made a special sacrifice, and we extend our gratitude.
When we see someone who’s currently serving wearing their military uniform out in the community, we take a moment to say thanks. Here at the med center, many among our faculty, staff and students have worn the cloth of our nation, so we also take a moment here to say:
Thank you for your service.
All members of the med center community are welcome to use the comments section below to share messages of appreciation to veterans, service members and their families. Also show your appreciation on the UNMC Facebook page.
Scott Shilling (and all veterans) thank YOU for your service!
To my grandfather, John Marretta (WWII), and my uncle, Dan Keenan (Vietnam), thank you for your service.
Thanks for posting this UNMC Today. Sometimes military folk and the experiences had their seem a million miles away from UNMC. It’s nice to have just one moment where we can reflect back on it and feel appreciated.
