How long is your training program and how long have you been at UNMC? Family Medicine Residency program is three years (one in Omaha, two in Kearney)
What do you like the most about your training program? Flexibility in training. Practicing in rural sites with increased autonomy.
What challenges do you foresee in graduate medical education in the future? Recruiting and retaining physicians for primary care, especially at rural locations in Nebraska
List some accomplishments that you are proud of:
- Graduating from UNMC and overcoming the challenges of training during the COVID pandemic.
- Serving as chief rural resident for the family medicine program.
- Signing to practice as a rural physician at Valley County Health System (Ord, Nebraska) next year upon completion of residency.
Tell us three things about you that others may not know:
- I enjoy fishing, hiking, upland game hunting and spending time with my family during my free time.
- My favorite restaurant in Omaha is Salween Thai.
- I’ve served in the Nebraska Air National Guard for six years and just completed flight surgeon training.
