How I fell in love with nursing and research: I fell in love with nursing and research on accident. The experiences I had during my greatest moments of failure turned into opportunities I never dreamed of. I love teaching students and making content relatable. I also love being able to use my research and nursing skills to improve the care women receive, specifically for urinary incontinence. This work is impactful and meaningful, and I can’t imagine doing anything else.

Education:

  • PhD, UNMC College of Nursing, 2023
  • BSN, UNMC College of Nursing, 2018
  • ASNAS, Metropolitan Community College, 2017

Memberships:

  • Nebraska Rural Health Association
  • Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing – Gamma Pi Chapter
  • Midwest Nursing Research Society

Three things people might not know about me:

  • I am an avid baker. My interest in baking is strongly correlated with the complication of a recipe. My sourdough starter, Jane Dough, has fed a lot of people.
  • I started my undergraduate career as a vocal performance major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
  • I love spending time hiking and traversing the many trails in the Omaha metro.
