Free workshop to plan hands-on educational sessions for students

UNMC faculty and educators are invited to a free workshop that will help them create ready-to-implement, simulation-based health care training sessions.

Attendees also will learn more about the available resources and opportunities at iEXCEL.

The workshop, hosted by iEXCEL, will be Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 12:30 to 3:30 pm. in the Davis Global Center Holographic Theater. The three-hour workshop will be in-person and consist of short lectures followed by hands-on workbook activities. An additional hour will be available for one-to-one consultations, if needed. Consultations also can be scheduled for a later date.

“Attendees will discover ways to better engage student learners, as well as walk away with ready-to-implement, simulation-based training sessions and a stronger understanding of how iEXCEL can help them integrate simulation and visualization into their health care training,” said Priscila Rodrigues Armijo, MD, educational research specialist for iEXCEL.

Dr. Rodrigues Armijo will lead the workshop, designed for subject matter experts who are interested in incorporating simulation into their health care training or refining a current simulation-based training session.

RSVPs are required. Interested individuals who are unable to attend Oct. 25 can complete the RSVP and express interest in a future workshop date and one-on-one session.
