NU alumni invited to professional development conference

University of Nebraska alumni are invited to attend the inaugural Nebraska Career Catalyst, a conference featuring expert faculty and alumni presenters from the University of Nebraska’s four campuses.

The event is Monday, Nov. 13, in Lincoln and is a collaboration between the alumni associations at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the University of Nebraska at Omaha and UNMC.

Conference attendees will have opportunities to network and participate in unique, interactive learning sessions focused on workplace soft skills, management best-practices and professional development. Marley Doyle, MD, director of the Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska, and Howard Liu, MD, chair of the UNMC Department of Psychiatry, will host an interactive presentation on “How to Work, Lead and Manage with Emotional Intelligence.”

More information, including a full schedule of session topics and speakers, is available here.

Registration is required by Oct. 30. The cost is $70 and includes breakfast, lunch and one complimentary beverage at the optional welcome reception on Nov. 12.

Education-based campus programs are invited to host a table at the conference and share information with attendees. These programs must offer some form of continuing education, such as a certificate or graduate degree. If interested in hosting a table, contact Laura Hohenstein with information about the program by Oct. 12. Tables will be approved at the discretion of the planning committee.

With questions, contact Cheyenne Townsley at the Nebraska Alumni Association.
