Name: Jamie Gilmore, PhD
Title: Senior scientist at Moderna Therapeutics
Year you were an INBRE Scholar: 2003-2004
Tell me about your work: I am a senior scientist working at Moderna on the preformulation team.
How did the INBRE program shape you as a scientist/contribute to your success/impact the work you do today?
The INBRE program was my initial introduction to performing research in a laboratory environment. For me, the experience was a very positive one which confirmed my desire to pursue a career in scientific research.
Additionally, it allowed me to develop basic hands-on laboratory skills which were invaluable for my subsequent acceptance into and ability to navigate through graduate school. Many of the basic skills I developed during this time are still relevant to what I do in my current job, and INBRE gave me the start that guided me to where I am today.
