WeeCare, the largest child care network in the United States, officially has changed its name to Upwards. The organization recently notified med center employees of the rebranding via an email, noting the child care benefits offered to UNMC and Nebraska Medicine families will remain the same.
Upwards offers 24/7 dedicated support that connects families with quality and licensed home child care providers, babysitters, nannies and backup care. Upwards services include a dedicated care manager who works with employees to find the best options for their child care needs, including weekend, nighttime and backup care, based on their price range, location and preferences.
Benefits-eligible UNMC employees continue to have access to the Upwards platform and network at no additional cost. Actual cost of child care is not included.
UNMC and Nebraska Medicine announced the partnership with then-WeeCare in March 2022.
