The Center for Healthy Living is hosting a series of open house events beginning today and running through Thursday, Sept. 21, including giveaways, free use of fitness facilities, free fitness classes and facility tours.
The center is located in the Student Life Center and offers a variety of activities and services that encourage wellness among faculty, staff and students. Memberships, intramural sports, special events and fitness classes are available to all UNMC and Nebraska Medicine faculty, staff and students and are also open to the community. Tours
A CFHL staff member will give guided tours of the facilities, including the cardio room, weight room, fitness classrooms and gymnasium. Guests can come individually or in groups. Tours will be available between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. each day and last approximately 20 minutes.
Stop by the bloodmobile parked in lot 15 outside the Student Life Center Building and the Center for Healthy Living from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sep. 19, and donate blood to save lives.
Keep “Fit” Simple: Fitness on Demand
This session will demonstrate how to access hundreds of on-demand streaming workout videos. Join the session starting at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sep. 20.

- TRX Suspension Straps, room 1009 (Tuesdays, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.)
- Total Body Fitness, room 1004 (Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.)
- Yoga, room 1009 (Mondays and Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
Grab some friends and play some cornhole, ladderball, spikeball, KanJam or yard darts at the Ruth and Bill Scott Student Plaza between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.
