An announcement on the former Dunkin’ Donuts space
Starbucks is coming to Wittson Hall this fall.
The coffeehouse chain will fill the space formerly occupied by Dunkin’ Donuts on the fourth floor of Wittson Hall. Starbucks already is available in the Durham Outpatient Center west atrium.
Campus leaders expect the Wittson Hall location to open sometime this fall — before the University of Nebraska Regents visit campus Oct. 4-5.
Parking restrictions in Lot 50 until Wednesday
Construction in Lot 2, the parking structure attached to the Durham Outpatient Center, is impacting patient parking.
Patient parking is being prioritized in Lot 50, across Emile Street, to allow people to arrive on time for their scheduled appointments.
Employees permitted to park in Lot 50 should not use Level D, the top level of Lot 50. Alternative parking spots should be available at Lots 5 and 6 at 42nd Street and Dewey Avenue or at the Clarkson Doctors Building North until Wednesday, Sept. 6.
42nd Street skywalk to close for two weeks
The skywalk over 42nd Street between the Sorrell Center and Wittson Hall will be closed beginning Tuesday, Sept. 5, for repairs.
Workers will be making repairs to the skywalk bridge; crews in the street to assist with and direct traffic as needed.
The work will take about two weeks, weather permitting, and is due to end Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Shoot, was hopeful the new coffee shop in Wittson Hall might be Scooters, give Starbucks some healthy competition. But will be glad to have a location for coffee closer to me again.
