Work continues at the Clarkson Doctors Building South after a water main caused flooding there Monday evening. The building is closed today as crews work to clean and repair flood damage and make sure all the building’s critical systems are working. Clarkson Doctors Building South will remain closed through the day Tuesday, August 8. A decision will be made later in the day about operations for Wednesday August 9.

All other Nebraska Medical Center facilities are operating normally, including the Emergency Department and all hospital inpatient areas. Any patients with appointments in Clarkson Doctors Building South will be contacted directly to reschedule. Colleagues who typically work in the building should contact their direct manager with questions about upcoming work.

Due to a broken water main near the Nebraska Medical Center campus (near 42nd and Farnam streets), Clarkson Doctors Building South will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 8. Colleagues who are scheduled to work in the building Tuesday should check with their direct manager for direction on work plans. Patients with appointments in the building will be contacted directly to reschedule. 

Nebraska Medical Center’s Emergency Department and inpatient units remain open and fully functional. Nebraska Medicine and UNMC Facilities Management teams are working directly with the Metropolitan Utilities District to repair the leak. This may involve road work on 42nd and Farnam streets on Tuesday.
