Episode of ‘Rural Health Matters’ wins Telly Award

An episode of “Rural Health Matters,” featuring UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, and Anthony Fauci, MD, the now-former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, was recognized with a Silver Telly Award.

The episode of “Rural Health Matters,” a medical and health talk show hosted by Christina Loren on RFD-TV, aired on Sept. 19, 2022.

The Telly Awards, in its 44th season, honors excellence and showcases the best work created within television and across video, for all screens. More than 12,000 entries were submitted from all 50 states and across five continents.

“We are proud to receive this award,” Dr. Gold said. “This honor reflects the way the show has become a national platform to bring the latest science and medical information to rural America. We thank Dr. Fauci for being part of this.”

During the episode, Dr. Fauci talked about the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as his then-recently announced retirement from the NIAID.
