On May 30, the Nebraska Institutional Development Award Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) program welcomed 32 undergraduate students from across Nebraska as they embark on their summer research experience.
These INBRE Scholars will spend the next 10 weeks over the summer conducting research at UNMC, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln or Creighton University and go back to their home campuses in the fall ready to continue their laboratory research.
The INBRE program is overseen by Paul Sorgen, PhD, a professor in the University of Nebraska Medical Center Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and principal investigator of the $16.2 million National Institutes of Health grant that supports the program.
