Julie Gillespie, MD, summarizes the QI project the CA-3 class presented at the end of April during the morning conference.
What: An efficient way to view vital information (including previous intubation hx) at emergent airways
How do I access this page?
1. Click on the Summary tab in the patient chart (red arrow)
2. Type “Stat intubation” in the search box in the upper right corner (red circle)
Pro tip: Click on the wrench to the right of this box, go to “add or remove tabs from toolbar” and set this page as part of your available tabs for quick access in the future.
What information lives here? Previous intubation procedure notes are located under “Notes Across Encounters” in the green box. Other information you may find valuable: vitals including height/weight, allergies, PMH including history of MH, previous surgeries, select labs, echocardiography, current diet orders, active LDAs and the MAR. |
**PLEASE NOTE** 1. Intubations performed prior to the formal procedure notes will not pull across, nor will intubations from OSH. 2. Any provider (including bedside RNs), in any context, can access this page. Please help them navigate this new process. Hopefully, with familiarity, this page will be accessed prior to our arrival at bedside to expedite the intubation process and improve patient safety. |
