Temporary outages in the med center’s paging system are possible as the paging vendor performs upgrades in Omaha and surrounding areas.
On Tuesday, May 9, through Thursday, May 11, paging vendor American Messaging will have multiple teams in Omaha and surrounding areas upgrading antennas and tower transmitters.
During this time, there may be short paging outages lasting from 5 to 10 minutes as equipment is switched. American Messaging has about 20 sites to visit in the Omaha area and more in the surrounding areas.
The Omaha area upgrades will start on May 9 at 8 a.m., with a target of completion by early afternoon. Areas outside of Omaha will be completed on May 10 or 11.
If any med center colleagues are having difficulty sending pages, they are urged to keep trying or use backup methods during this time.
