The UNMC GRADS organization (Graduates & Professionals Representing Achievement, Diversity and Service) will hold an event May 3 to honor graduates who have been involved in serving and supporting students and communities of color.
The theme for the in-person event, which will be from 3 to 5 p.m., is “Maintaining Community in a Changing Landscape.”
GRADS is an inclusive student group of graduate and professional students providing a supportive network that is representative of diverse backgrounds, reaching toward achievement, encouraging diversity and providing service to the UNMC campus and Omaha community. The group connects and supports underrepresented students at UNMC.
The organization formed in 2016 and has held an annual event to honor graduates, although in-person events were paused during the COVID pandemic.
Graduates who would like to be honored should RSVP by April 24; fill out this form online.
Refreshments will be served, and graduates will receive a small gift in recognition.
The GRADS Graduation Event is organized by GRADS and the UNMC Office of Inclusion. Email Sheritta Strong, MD, assistant vice chancellor for inclusion, or the UNMC Office of Inclusion with any questions.
