A roofing project for the Hixson-Lied Center will resume on Wednesday, April 19.
Access to the Nebraska Medicine Emergency Department will not be affected. During some stages of the project, a crane will be utilized to load materials on to the roof. At those times, the crane, dumpsters, and other materials will result in a partial lane blockage on 44th Street, just north of Dewey Avenue.
The construction crew will work closely with emergency department staff to make sure operation of the crane does not impact ambulances or other vehicles using the emergency entrance.
The roofing project began last fall and was paused during the winter. The project is expected to be completed by this fall.
