UNMC held its inaugural UNMC Giving Day – For the Greater Good on March 30-31, and the Munroe-Meyer Institute community took part, as well.
According to the University of Nebraska Foundation, MMI received total donations of $10,504 from 77 gifts. The institute also had posted two “challenges” for donors, both of which were achieved:
- The Munroe-Meyer Institute Unlocking Potential Fund Challenge, which unlocked a $300 donation from MMI Director Karoly Mirnics, MD, PhD, and Zeljka Korade, DVM, PhD, when 15 other people donated to the MMI fund; and
- The MMI Grateful Patient Fund Challenge, sponsored by the Wells Family, which unlocked a $3,000 donation from the family when 20 other people donated to the MMI fund.
“The response we received during this first-ever UNMC Giving Day was heartwarming,” Dr. Mirnics said. “From the old friends I recognized to new names who wanted to show their support for our mission to transform lives, people gave gifts that will help Munroe-Meyer build on its successes in the coming year and beyond. Thank you all.”
