The next Innovators in Education E-Learning Showcase will be held April 11 in the Truhlsen Campus Events Center. The event, which runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., is open to all UNMC faculty, staff and students.
The showcase will highlight the most recent projects funded through the Office of Academic Affairs and feature 12 teams from Kearney, Lincoln and Omaha. During the showcase, attendees are invited to meet the faculty and student developers and see live demonstrations of the projects. There also will be a demonstration by a team who created e-modules through external funding.
“This is the 10th anniversary of e-learning at UNMC, and we are thrilled to be hosting an in-person event once again,” said Peggy Moore, director of UNMC Interactive E-Learning and assistant professor in UNMC College of Allied Health Professions. “A live showcase allows attendees to interact directly with the module developers and find potential collaborators for future projects.”
The schedule for the showcase is:
- 10:30 a.m. – Demonstrations of e-learning projects (projects one through seven)
- 11:30 a.m. – Recognition ceremony and keynote presentation by Cory Rohlfsen, MD, Jason Shiffermiller, MD, and Lauren Wegner on their journey of e-learning scholarship
- 12:45 p.m. – Demonstrations of e-learning projects (projects eight through 14)
“We are excited at the level and growth of e-learning over the last 10 years, as this cohort includes new milestones,” Moore said. “For the first time, we had student participants from the Munroe-Meyer Institute, and other individuals worked with experts at iEXCEL to add 3D interactions to their e-learning modules. Plus, newly created degree programs, such as bioinformatics and genetic counseling, are participating, which means interactive e-learning is being integrated early on into the curriculum.”
