The UNMC Interprofessional Academy of Educators is holding a two-part, hybrid Spotlight on Scholarship, where a variety of health sciences education research will be highlighted.

Spotlight on Scholarship begins with a virtual poster session via Canvas on March 21-28. The Canvas course gives UNMC faculty, staff and students the opportunity to view the posters at a time convenient for them, provide feedback directly to the authors and vote for their favorite poster. Enroll in Canvas course.

The second part is a live event on Wednesday, March 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Durham Research Center auditorium. This event will feature three projects presented live and is open to all UNMC faculty, staff and students. RSVP to the event.

“Education scholarship has continued to grow and flourish at UNMC, and it remains a key factor in the university’s strategic plan,” said Brian Boerner, MD, director of the UNMC Interprofessional Academy of Educators and associate professor of internal medicine in the UNMC College of Medicine. “We are excited to showcase the innovative efforts of faculty, staff and learners in our return to an in-person event honoring their accomplishments.”

The live keynote projects on March 29 include:

  • “Impact of Lecture Videos on Academic Performance”
Presented by UNMC faculty members Linsey Donner, PhD, and Marnie Imhoff, UNMC College of Allied Health Professions.
  • “Integrating Oral Health Care into Primary Care Well-Child Visits: An Interprofessional Model of Care”
Presented by UNMC faculty members Kelly Betts, EdD, College of Nursing, and Lisa Moravec, UNMC College of Dentistry.
