Omaha Performing Arts is offering discount to UNMC employees and students to select shows in March.
Select shows include:
- Kodo: Tsuzumi, March 1: Now celebrating their 40th anniversary, Kodo brings its spectacular Taiko drumming troupe to Omaha. Experience a breath-taking, highly choreographed and dynamic exploration of the limitless possibilities of the traditional Japanese drum.
- “Les Misérables,” March 7-12: Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, “Les Misérables” tells a story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption – a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. This epic and uplifting story has become one of the most celebrated musicals in theatrical history. The score of “Les Misérables” includes the songs “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “Bring Him Home,” “One Day More,” “Master of the House” and many more.
- Blood, Sweat & Tears, March 24: Relive the rock glory days with Blood, Sweat & Tears. The group invented a new style of music fusing a horn section with rock, jazz and blues and scored hits including “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy” and “Spinning Wheel” — beating out the Beatles to win a Grammy for Album of the Year and playing a triumphant set at Woodstock.
- National Geographic Live: T. Rex Rises, March 28: How did T-Rex become the iconic apex predator of North America 67 million years ago? Paleontologist Lindsay Zanno, PhD, is uncovering the answer. Each year, she spends several months on expedition, scouring the badlands of western North America in search of clues. Along the way, she has discovered many new species — including some of the earliest predecessors of T-Rex. Join Dr. Zanno for a look at how a global climate crisis during the Cretaceous period changed the course of evolution for this prehistoric tyrant and its ancestors.
