Sarah Lowman, DDS, MPH, an assistant professor in the department of growth and development at the College of Dentistry, has been named the college’s assistant dean for admissions. In this role, she will work to advance the college’s admissions program.
Since joining the college in 2020, Dr. Lowman has played a key role in recruitment initiatives, including working with the Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) to help students who are underrepresented in the health professions prepare to apply to dental school.
“Dr. Lowman is a valued member of the College of Dentistry admissions team and an extraordinary representative of the college. She has a great passion for helping students realize their potential,” said Merlyn Vogt, DDS, associate dean for student affairs, admissions and external relations at the college.
In her new role, Dr. Lowman will lead the admissions process, develop strategic recruitment initiatives, and provide academic and career guidance to prospective students.
“We are very pleased and excited to have Dr. Lowman take on a leadership role within our admissions team,” said Rowen Zetterman, MD, MACP, MACG, interim dean at the College of Dentistry.
“Her leadership will have a great influence on the college’s future. She is dedicated to helping the college continue to recruit the most outstanding dental students,” he said.
Congratulations! Sarah.
