The UNMC Global Center for Health Security’s Never Again Summit speaker series will feature guest Jeremy Farrar, MBBS, DPhil, for a discussion about global health, pandemics and health security.
An epidemiologist and clinical scientist, Dr. Farrar has 18 years of practice leading the clinical research unit for tropical diseases in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The virtual discussion and Q&A will be Jan. 30 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. CT. Registration is required. Zoom information will be emailed after registration.
Dr. Farrar joined Wellcome, a charitable foundation that addresses global health challenges, as director in 2013. As part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Farrar is a member of the UK Vaccine Taskforce and the Principles Group of the ACT-Accelerator hosted by the World Health Organization. He chairs the WHO’s R&D Blueprint Advisory Group.
