The Munroe-Meyer Institute held its first ever Winter Event for MMI’s young patients and their families to enjoy seasonal fun with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Olaf, the lovable snowman from Frozen.
Melonie Welsh, MMI’s director of community engagement, said the Dec. 16 event was a lot of fun for the kids and staff who participated – offering similar “warm fuzzies” for the participants and volunteers who have experienced the Halloween Trunk or Treat.
About 40 kids and their families stopped by the event, along with about 15 staff members. The young ones and their families enjoyed cookies and candy canes, took photos in front of a winter backdrop and listened to the soundtrack from Frozen.
On Facebook, the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute posted, “We had such an amazing time at today’s #WinterEvent making new friends and sharing smiles with our clients, patients and the community!”
