Due to the winter storm warning issued for the area, Nebraska Medicine has declared essential staffing effective from 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, until 7 a.m., Friday, Dec. 23. Current weather forecasts call for 2 to 4 inches of snow and wind gusts between 40 to 50 miles per hour.
- All staff required to be on-site to provide patient care or patient care support should report to work as normal.
- This includes Nebraska Medical Center, Bellevue Medical Center and all health center sites, including Grand Island. All will be open as usual.
- University Health Center in Lincoln and the UNO Health Center will be closed.
- Colleagues able to work remotely should do so.
This information will be relayed to patients through the media, the Nebraska Medicine website and social media platforms.
At this time, normal operations are expected to resume as normal at 7 a.m., on Friday, Dec. 23. If this changes, additional instruction for colleagues will be sent through internal communication channels and relayed to patients through the media, the website and social media platforms.
All colleagues can park in any employee lot through Monday, Dec. 26, but must obtain prior authorization from Parking Services (402-559-8580) before parking in patient/visitor lots. See a map of parking locations here.
