Nominations are being accepted for UNMC’s Gold Humanism Honor Society Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Faculty Award.
The Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award recognizes UNMC College of Medicine faculty members who demonstrate both clinical excellence and outstanding compassion in the delivery of care and who show respect for patients, their families and health care colleagues.
The Gold Foundation launched the award in 1991 at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey began replicating these awards nationwide in 1998, with participation from The Gold Foundation. In 2003, thanks to a donation from Leonard Tow, these awards became solely sponsored and administered by The Gold Foundation.
All full- and part-time UNMC College of Medicine faculty members who have been UNMC faculty for two or more years are eligible.

Nominations close at 8 a.m. on Jan. 9. The award recipient will be recognized by the UNMC chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society in late January 2023.
