“More than anything, it has been Dr. Davies’ tireless work as previous chair of the Scholarship and Success Committee that showcases his work and commitment to the clubs,” Webb said. “Dr. Davies is passionate about education and making sure opportunities are offered and accessible to young people in this community.

“He was and continues to be a true advocate for the scholarship program, its staff and the young people served by the program. He knows the value of investing in young people, as they are our future.”

Dr. Davies said he was honored to receive the award.

“As a board member, I have valued giving back to the community over the years through working with the dedicated staff and volunteers who give so much of their time and resources in ensuring that the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands fulfils its mission of ensuring all young people realize their full potential as productive, responsible, healthy and caring members of society,” Dr. Davies said. “The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands not only provides the safe place, amenities and programs for enhanced learning and personal growth, but the scholarships and academic support they provide also are exemplary, enabling these youth to achieve their dreams of becoming the future health, STEM and other professionals and leaders of our community.”
