How I fell in love with infectious diseases:

My father was an investigative crime lawyer, and watching him from childhood has created a habit of puzzle-solving. I believe the field of Infectious diseases is similar in many ways. My love for ID further blossomed during my second-year internal medicine elective rotation, for which I am incredibly thankful to the faculty. Challenges in patient care layered with surprises immensely stimulated me, and further learning gave me a much more fulfilling experience. The field’s evolving diversity and its value in dealing with pressing challenges, such as antimicrobial resistance, new emerging pathogens, HIV, outbreaks and pandemics, have fascinated me.
