Salsa lesson offered to UNMC community

Omaha Performing Arts is bringing a salsa dancing lesson to the UNMC campus. Join salsa instructor Blandon Joiner on Oct. 13 from noon to 1 p.m. on the UNMC Ice Rink for a lesson. Salsa is a Latin dance, associated with the music genre of the same name. It is normally a partner dance, although there are recognized solo forms as well.

Afterwards, Omaha Performing Arts representatives will be available to offer information about upcoming shows and education programs. All UNMC employees and students, no matter whether they attend the salsa lesson, can buy $10 tickets to the salsa jazz show at the Holland Music Club featuring Sammy Figueroa on Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m.

As one of the world’s leading percussionists, Figueroa has played on countless records and is well-known for his versatility in a multitude of musical styles. Besides playing with some of the world’s greatest pop stars, such as David Bowie, Chaka Khan and Mariah Carey, Figueroa also has played with distinguished jazz artists who include Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Quincy Jones and George Benson.

Apply code SALSA22 when purchasing tickets on Ticket Omaha to receive the offer.

Hello. I tried to order tickets for Sammy Figueroa show, but the discount code does not work. Holland Music Club said it is active starting October 13th?

  2. Jeffrey Robb says:

Hi, Irena. I would just advise to try again now. I hope that works.
