Myra Schmaderer, PhD, from assistant professor to associate professor with continuous appointment, effective July 1, 2022

Leeza Struwe, PhD, from assistant professor to associate professor, effective July 1, 2022

Honors and awards

The UNMC College of Nursing congratulates the following students and faculty on honors earned in the summer and fall of 2022:

Dean Juliann Sebastian, PhD, received the 2022 Extraordinary Achievement in Nursing Award from the Nebraska Nurses Association.

Windy Alonso, PhD, received the American Heart Association’s Council on Cardiovascular and Stroke Nursing 2022 Marie Cowan Promising Early Career Investigator Award.

Mariya Kovaleva, PhD, received the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association Foundation’s 2022 Virginia Lee Cora Award, which provides support for her study, “Telehealth Transitional Care for Persons Living with Dementia:  A Feasibility Study.”

Bunny Pozehl, PhD, received the 2022 Kathleen Dracup Distinguished Lecture and Exemplary Career in Mentoring Award from the American Heart Association.
