Campus food truck schedule
The medical center’s food truck schedule is set for September.
The food trucks will be parked on the north side of the UNMC skating rink from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A new vendor joins the lineup this month: Mama Renee’s Midwest Taste, which specializes in hamburgers and philly steak sandwiches.
The current schedule is:
Monday: Zemog’s
Tuesday: Burning Bridges
Wednesday: No vendor (La Casa will return Sept. 28)
Thursday: No vendor
Friday: Mama Renee’s Midwest Taste
Construction ahead on Hixson Lied Center roof
The Hixson Lied Center is getting a new roof. Setup for the project will begin Monday, Sept. 19.
Construction is expected to take anywhere from 10 months to a year. Access to the Nebraska Medicine Emergency Department will not be affected.
During some stages of the project, a crane will be used. During those periods, the crane, dumpsters and other materials will result in a partial lane blockage on 44th Street just north of Dewey Avenue.
The construction crew will work closely with emergency department staff to make sure operation of the crane does not impact ambulances or other vehicles using the emergency entrance.
