“Rural Health Matters,” the medical/health talk show on RFD-TV featuring UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, will continue its string of high-profile guests in the coming weeks.
On Monday, Sept. 19, Dr. Gold will host Anthony Fauci, MD, who recently announced his decision to step down in December from his roles as chief medical advisor to the president, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and chief of the NIAID Laboratory of Immunoregulation for several decades.
Dr. Gold, with RFD-TV’s Nashville-based host Christina Loren, will speak with Dr. Fauci about the state of the pandemic, promising research on potential one-dose nasal vaccines and more. Drs. Fauci and Gold also will take viewer questions.
“We are glad to welcome Dr. Fauci back to the show,” Dr. Gold said. “The fact that he has been on multiple times speaks to his respect for its reach and our rural audience. We are proud UNMC has this national platform and has become a leader in bringing the latest, non-biased science and medical information to rural America.”
In future shows, Dr. Gold’s guests will include leading national and regional figures such as:
- Debra Houry, MD, acting principal deputy director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Oct. 3);
- Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts (Oct. 17); and
- Esther George, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City (Oct. 31).
“Rural Health Matters” is shown weekly at 5 p.m. CT on RFD-TV. Each week, Loren and Dr. Gold provide updated information to viewers across rural America. Typically, they are joined each week by a subject matter expert.
“Rural Health Matters” and RFD-TV can be found on local television providers.
