The UNMC Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research will welcome CyncHealth leadership for a seminar on Thursday, Sept. 8, from 1 to 2 p.m.
CyncHealth leadership will provide an overview of the organization and how UNMC researchers can engage with CyncHealth to advance health informatics in Nebraska. The Zoom event is available at this link.
CyncHealth is the state-designated health information exchange for Nebraska. With near-universal participation in the state, CyncHealth facilitates accessing patient information and records. CyncHealth supports safe, effective, high-quality care and works to improve patient outcomes through its health information exchange platform. CyncHealth also is working to integrate social determinants of health into its health information exchange – tackling the integration of health care and social care.
“We are excited to welcome CyncHealth to provide information about its organization and mission to the UNMC community,” said Jennifer Larsen, MD, UNMC’s vice chancellor for research.
The seminar will discuss mechanisms for UNMC researchers to partner and engage with CyncHealth in leveraging health informatics data.
CyncHealth began in 2008 as a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to enable providers in the State of Nebraska to exchange health care data and support them in providing holistic and effective care to all patients. More than a decade later, CyncHealth serves more than 1,100 facilities and connects more than five million lives across the Midwest.
CyncHealth’s health data utility serves as a highway of health care data exchange and leverages this data to:
- Coordinate care across the continuum
- Improve patient care
- Ease the burden on providers
- Create healthier communities
