Alyson Hanish, PhD, assistant professor in the UNMC College of Nursing-Omaha Division, will present a free webinar on exploring the physiology, function and over-the-counter use of melatonin.
The webinar will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9.
Melatonin is a complex hormone involved in circadian regulation, but research suggests that melatonin has many functions beyond sleep. Melatonin is sold in the United States as a dietary supplement and has become a trillion-dollar industry despite sparse and mixed research findings on sleep health benefits.
