UNMC connects with job website Handshake

Handshake at UNMC is the new place for students and alumni to engage with employers and locate internships, research opportunities, part/full time jobs, work study positions and campus employment.

Faculty and staff within the med center community and outside employers can create a profile to post available positions and opportunities for UNMC students in a central, accessible location.

Handshake offers a larger national network of employers, job and internship listings, along with a personalized experience for employers and students to connect. Launched at the beginning of July, Handshake at UNMC is where all on-campus student opportunities will be posted going forward.

"Whether it’s a federal work study position, assistantship or research opportunity, Handshake is an easy way to connect students with valuable opportunities at UNMC," said Paula Kohles, director of the UNMC Office of Financial Aid. "This platform will be a vital resource for students who are looking to build their resumes, get involved in research, get a part-time job on campus or find full-time work following graduation.

"Graduates who are seeking new opportunities can easily connect with med center employers as well as local organizations who are eager to hire UNMC alumni."
